I learned in 2008 that art truly soothes the soul. I started selling Stampin' Up! as a way to build my stamp collection and fell in love with stamping. A few of my favorites are: StampingBella, Julie Nutting, Tim Holtz, Hero Arts, Lawn Fawn, Ellen Hutson, Art Impressions, just to name a few; and I must mention my digi-artists Gerda Steiner, Jessica Lynn, Saturated Canary, Nomadic Workshop, Nays World, East Wind, Mo's Digital Pencil and many, many others. I also fell in love with embossing (wet and dry), ink, ribbon, markers, stickles, watercolor, glitter, paint, gelatos, of course, PAPER and my heartthrob COPICS. I would be crazy not to mention my newest craze...PAINT POURING. This is so addictive. I am setting up an area just for this new love. It truly requires its own space.
Crafting is also a continual learning endeavor. I love learning and I have found great teachers, such as, Sandy Allnock (art-classes.com), Kit and Clowder (kitandclowder.com), Jennifer McGuire & Kristina Werner (OnlineCardClasses.com) and the 30day coloring challenge "The Daily Marker," by Kathy Racoosin. Kathy brought back the love of coloring! Thank you Kathy...I so look forward to the 30 day coloring challenge.
Even with all of the wonderful mediums above, mixed media is my absolute favorite and by using each of these wonderful mediums is how I began my art journey. I hear so many people say that they can't do this, but stamping turns everyone into an artist, even if you can't draw or paint. Stamping allows anyone to create with no creativity or experience necessary! Just use a cool image and stamp ink to paper, and by doing this you are on your way to creating cards and other projects that will WOW your family and friends. So join me with stamps, ink, and paper...well maybe a stencil or two, and I can't forget paint, of course some ribbons, definitely some glitter, a couple of sequins and a lot of crystals... and you will be on your way to your own therapy session.
